Candle Burning Guide

Bougie Wolf Candle Burning Guide

I was a lover of scented candles long before I started making them.

And nothing would frustrate me more than buying a high end candle and then it wouldn’t burn/melt properly.

You know, when the wax doesn’t melt all the way to the edge…it’s called the tunnelling effect.

Fear not, we have some tips and tricks for getting the best burn experience from our candles.

Tips for getting the best experience with our candles...

  • Trim your wicks
  • The first burn is the most important.
  • The first time you burn your candle make sure the wax melts all the way to the edge of the container.
  • For our large candles this may take up to 4 hours, and for small candles 3 hours.
  • If a candle is not burned for long enough to allow the wax to melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a “memory ring”.
  • The memory ring then leads to tunnelling
  • To fix the memory ring/tunnelling, wrap your candle in foil while lit and watch it melt all the way to the edge
  • You can also wrap the candle in foil to “hurry along” the burn time, for example with your first burn
  • Enjoy!

Has this helped?

We’d love to hear your feedback

As always thanks for your support
